Lake Leschenaultia

Today we spent the morning at the lake

There are so many places in our own backyard that we don't visit as often as we should and this is one of them. Lake Leschenaultia is a man made lake built in 1897 to store water to power the steam trains that passed through the area. It is now used for recreation. There are camping grounds, a cafe, canoe hire and picnic areas.  Today we stayed for a few hours. The kids had a swim in the lake, a play in the playground, a run on the grass area and a picnic lunch before we came home

I didn't feel like going on the playground today, so I sat and read my book while the kids wore themselves out. Hmmm.... I'm thinking next year travel around Italy?
