We left Coffs Harbour and headed down through Myall Lakes, stopping in at Tea Gardens and then Hawks Nest for our lunch stop.

Arriving in Newcastle at 1pm we opened the door and quickly realised. It was F*** freezing!
We had planned on camping here for the night but due to the wind that was coming in off the coast we decided to head inland. We spent a few hours looking around Newcastle. There were lots of lovely old buildings and watching the ships come in with the tug boats attached was quite impressive.

Posing by river. Charlotte is eating a chocolate biscuit in this photo, only realised once I put the pics up on my laptop! |
Newcastle |
After leaving Newcastle we headed in to Cessnock, NSW. Craig has a cousin who lives here so we caught up with them for some lunch and went back to their house for dinner. I went for a walk in the morning and took these few pics of the old church and a cherry blossom lined streets with old houses.
After staying in Cessnock for two nights we headed further inland on our way to Dubbo. We are now at the very TIGHT end of our budget so to speak. And home made lunches at the playground are a must! We stop most days to make a sandwich or wrap. Now the weather is getting colder it is ham and cheese toasties on the gas bottle!
lunch stop in Merriwa, NSW |
We stopped in at Dunedoo, a very old country
town, the type where everyone knows everyone. We got some looks as we pulled in on the cold winters day to get a cup of tea and a cup of coffee!
I made a phonecall from Dunedoo to book us in that night at the Big 4 in Dubbo. we put the heater on and with hot drinks in the cup holder and some tunes on the radio we headed the last couple of hours into Dubbo.
